General Information

Automatic Power factor capacitor System broadly comprises three parts.

A) Automatic Control Unit [ Automatic powerfactor control relay ]
Microproprocessor / Micro controallerbased Automatic Control Unit (ACU) controls the entire system. if displays various electrical parameters. The controller continuously calculates the load kVAR demand and Connects/disconnects the required capacitor steps in order to maintain Power Factor close to the set target Power Factor.

B) Switching Elements :
Swwitching of capacitors is performed with highly reliable capacitor dutyContactors/Thyistor as per customer requirement. Maximum up to 12 numbers of capacitor steps can be selected for switching. Power Capacitors are rated for 440 Volts, 50 Hz supply, which are connected in DELTA.

C) Current Transformet :
Three current transformers are made use of for load current sensing and two current transformers for capacitor current sensing, which feed signal to the ACU for measurement and computation purpose. The load sensing Current Transformers are present at the secondary (LT Side) of Transformer.
